YADAVINDRA SINGH, «EL MAGNÍFICO» DE PATIALA
Yadavindra Singh, the Maharajah of Patiala, an illustrious client of the Maison in the 1930s, celebrated for his exuberant style and sumptuous commissions, was a major source of inspiration for this collection. It was a special request from the Maharaja that changed the history of S.T. Dupont and brought it into the world of fire and lighters. Indeed, in 1941, "The Magnificent", as he was known, wanted to equip his minaudières with pocket lighters. The fact that this had never been done before prompted Lucien and André Tissot Dupont to create the first petrol lighter, thus inviting the Maison S.T. Dupont to enter a new world of excellence. This historic collaboration opened up new creative avenues for the Manufacture and sealed its association with luxury and timeless elegance. The Haute-Création Maharaja & Maharani collection is inspired by these legendary minaudières and the sovereign's jewels.

Inspired by the necklace of the Maharani, wife of the Maharaja of Patiala, this piece embodies the elegance and refinement of high jewelry. Graded red and white lacquer, solid yellow gold, diamonds, and red spinels combine subtly, while engravings and guilloché recall the spirit of Art Deco. Every detail, from the engraved "D" cap of S.T. Dupont to the gold-plated base, highlights exclusivity and artisanal savoir-faire.
